Abstract
Introduction: Knowledge, nowadays, has become a key contributor to the Economy and a success factor for all organizations raising many new concepts in the field of knowledge management. Although the literature has tried its best in revealing the relationship between knowledge management and organizational performance, little effort is truly dedicated to illustrating this relationship.
Method: This study aims at examining the relationship between the underlying components of knowledge management and organizational performance employing a descriptive survey methodology with a sample size of 39 using the Cochrane method. Our data collection tool is a localized version of the standard Lawson’s questionnaire, approved by several subject matter experts at Mashhad University of Medical Sciences. The questionnaire enjoyed a 0.91 reliability coefficient using Cronbach's coefficient. Face and content validities are approved by knowledge management experts. The collected data are analyzed through a Mean statistical methodology and Pearson autocorrelation coefficient using the SPSS software.
Results: As indicated by the results of the study, there is a statistically significant positive relationship between cooperation and organizational performance. We further find statistically significant positive relationships between organizational performance and trust, culture of learning, promotion, information technology support, knowledge acquisition, knowledge modification, knowledge application, knowledge protection, and organizational learning.
Conclusion:The vice-presidency Department of Education of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences is recognized capable of implementing knowledge management processes. Therefore, in order to identify the key knowledge, it is necessary to focus on organizational processes.
