Abstract

Introduction: The present study aimed to review the components of instructional design and management of interactive educational process in the context of virtual education.
Materials & Methods: This is an overview review study. The present study conduct by searching the keywords instructional design, virtual instructional design, e-learning, distance learning, education, blended learning in Science Direct, PubMed, SID. In the study, 128 were extracted in the first phase of the study. In the second step, 78 articles and reports were reviewed and finally, based on the inclusion criteria, 42 articles were used in the present study.
Results: The results of studies showed that the framework of educational design in the process of virtual education is very similar to the stages of educational design in the process of traditional education, but in detail, it is necessary to consider the features of virtual / e-learning. In the process of designing e-learning, it is necessary to pay attention to eight components, including determining the audience, determining the goals and expected outcomes, educational content, how to organize the content, determining teaching methods and learning activities, determining educational media, and assessment and evaluation.
Conclusion: Designing and managing a virtual learning process is a multidimensional issue that has various components such as the eight elements of educational design, available educational technologies, collaborative activities and creating opportunities for peer learning and growth of teachers' capabilities in e-learning environment has key role in the success of education program.
