Abstract
Introduction: Awareness of professional rules and regulations is so essential for dentists. Considering that awareness of these laws and judicial regulations will be needed during the working life, therefore, this research was conducted with the aim of investigating the level of awareness of dental students in North Khorasan regarding the laws and judicial regulations related to the dental profession in 1402.
Method & Materials: The current study is cross-sectional and descriptive-analytical. The research samples included 150 dental students of North Khorasan University of Medical Sciences in 1402, who were total population. An electronic questionnaire was used to collect data. The obtained data were analyzed using descriptive statistical methods, t-test in SPSS24 software.
Results: The mean and standard deviation of the participants' age was 23.11 ± 3.77. According to the obtained results, the average score of awareness of judicial laws in male students (24.93±41.59) is more than female students (33.24±18.87) and this difference was statistically significant (p=0.03). . Also, in the examination of the awareness score based on the age group and educational level of the students, the results showed that the average awareness score in the age group of 26 years and above (52.95 ± 29.59) compared to the age group of 25 years and below (35.47 ± 20.62) and in the students Clinical (41.78±23.35) was significantly higher than pre-clinical students (33.26±21.20) (p<0/05).
Conclusion: The results obtained from this research project show that the awareness score of the majority of North Khorasan dental school students regarding the legal rules and regulations of the dental profession is in the medium and weak range. This importance reveals the necessity and sensitivity of having adequate and appropriate education during the student period and after.
