Abstract

Introduction: Due to the spread of the corona virus and the closure of face-to-face classes in Iranian universities, physical education courses in universities should be offered online, just like other courses. Therefore, with the aim of intelligent organization of sports exercises, the researcher was looking for the design and production of a virtual system for teaching and implementing sports movements of general physical education units of medical students.
Method: First, the necessary content was designed based on the objectives of the physical education courses and on the basis of improving the physical fitness factors related to health. After the approval of physical education teachers, exercises were prepared in the form of text, images and educational videos for the guidance and correct execution of the movements by the students. The files of classes, instructors and students were prepared in Excel software. Finally, the system was prepared and placed on the web platform for implementation, and the students entered the system using smart mobile phones and performed exercises according to the 24-session training program (8 weeks, 3 sessions per week).
Results: The participation rate of students in the physical education virtual system in the first half of the academic year 2021-2022 was on average 92%. Also, on average, students successfully implemented more than 88% of the training sessions. The ratio of feedback provided by coaches to students based on the number of practice sessions was 88%, and based on the number of recorded stars, the level of satisfaction of instructors with the quality of sport movements performance by students was 73%.
Conclusion: In situations where face-to-face training is not possible, physical education lessons can be implemented on the internet and in the form of a scientific program, anytime and anywhere, using a smart mobile phone and through the designed virtual system.
