Research field: Major accidents and disasters cause a huge wave of casualties and injuries. Proper triage training can reduce deaths caused by accidents. Mobile applications can be an effective tool for triage training due to their great benefits. be used
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the impact of using triage training application in disasters on the level of knowledge, preparation and satisfaction of pre-hospital emergency workers.
Study method: The triage educational application was provided to the learners interactively and based on the constructivist learning theory of design and scientific content and knowledge, performance and satisfaction questionnaires in the form of post-test and pre-test. The triage application includes text, video, animation, The questionnaire and part of the triage competition were.
Results: 51 sample people were present to participate in the research. The knowledge scores before and after the intervention were determined as 20.3±06.65and 26.3 ± 09.78 respectively. The performance scores before and after the intervention (mean ± standard deviation) were 24.3 ±53.52 and 28 .1± 00.31 was determined. . The results of the study showed that the average scores of knowledge and performance after the intervention had a significant increase compared to before the intervention (p<0.001). Also, the difference in response time before the intervention was 9.2 minutes, and after the study it was 5.1 minutes. minutes decreased (p<0.001). In the examination of the average satisfaction, the results showed that the satisfaction level of the subjects under study is 89.05±18.09%.
Discussion and conclusion:
Based on the results of the research, education through mobile phones (mobile learning) is a suitable method for teaching various educational topics to the medical staff due to its availability, portability and easy use.
