Abstract
introduction: Promoting and improving the quality of clinical education is one of the influential factors in the advancement of the nursing profession. The present study aimed to investigate the status of clinical education and the factors affecting effective clinical education from the perspective of nursing students at Qom University of Medical Sciences in 2024.
Materials & Methods: The statistical population in the present study included nursing students in the Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery in Qom. This study is Descriptive analytical. The data collection tools included a demographic information questionnaire, a questionnaire to assess the status of clinical education, and a questionnaire to assess the factors affecting effective clinical education. The samples were selected through census and the required information was extracted from the questionnaire and statistical analysis was performed using SPSS-22 statistical software.
Results: In this study, a total of 73 nursing students from the 7 and 8 semesters of Qom University of Medical Sciences participated, with a GPA of 17.13 ± 1.17 and a range of 14 to 19.03. 30.1% of students were male and 91.8% were single. According to the findings, the mean score in the clinical education status questionnaire was 3.04 ± 0.62 and the mean score of factors affecting effective clinical education was 2.87 ± 0.54. In the factors affecting effective clinical education, the highest score was related to the area of individual characteristics of learners, 3.26 ± 0.57, and the lowest score was related to educational planning, 2.51 ± 0.80.
Conclusion: The present study showed that the average total score of the clinical education status questionnaire and the average total score of the effective clinical education questionnaire in nursing students of Qom Medical Sciences was moderate, although the score of the clinical education status was better than the effective clinical education..
