Abstract

Introduction: The purpose of this study was to investigate the level of compliance with professional ethics of teaching from the student's viewpoint.
Materials & Methods:  This cross-sectional study was conducted in Gonabad paramedical faculty in 2023 with the participation of 103 students in 4 different fields of anesthesiology, radiology, laboratory science, and operating room. Random stratified sampling and the research tool was the Professional Moral Survey. After collecting the data, it was entered into SPSS software version 20, and group t-tests, independent t-tests, and one-way analysis of variance were used to analyze the data.
Results: Overall, 67% of students were female and 84.5% were single. The mean and standard deviation of the student's age was 21.65 ± 1.42 years. The results of one sample t-test showed that the scores of the components of professional ethics and the total score of professional ethics are at a moderate and higher level. Overall, 52.4 percent of students reported the professional ethics as favorable. The components of “ideal evaluation and learner's knowledge” were at a lower level than the rest of the components. The component "mastery of teaching content" had the highest average.
Conclusion: According to the results of the study, detailed planning to promote professional ethics of teaching should be considered by managers. Also, in the field of ideal evaluation and recognition of the learner who had a lower average, training workshops, and regular performance monitoring are suggested for teachers.
