Medical Education Roadmap: The Necessity of Using a Curriculum Map

Abstract
Introduction: The curriculum map plays a pivotal role in medical education. This comprehensive tool, by charting the educational path from beginning to end, helps create a coherent and purposeful structure. By clearly showing the connections between courses, skills, and learning objectives, the curriculum map provides students and faculty with a comprehensive overview of the learning process. Additionally, as a reference document, it enables the continuous evaluation of curriculum progress by comparing the programs currently being implemented with the curriculum map, deficiencies and overlaps in the curriculum are identified and facilitates necessary revisions if needed. Furthermore, by clarifying expectations for students and faculty, the curriculum map significantly contributes to increasing motivation and improving the quality of education With the help of the map, it is ensured that all components of the curriculum are coordinated with each other and move towards the overall educational goals. In summary, as a precise and practical guide, the curriculum map plays a key role in ensuring the quality of medical education and training skilled and competent physicians.

The study was conducted in accordance with the ethical principles outlined in the Declaration of Helsinki.
