Clinical Education Status and Related factors from the Viewpoints of Surgical technologists and anesthesiology Students of Guilan University of Medical Sciences

Abstract
Introduction: Clinical education is a vital part of education in the operating room, which plays an essential role in shaping the basic skills and professional capabilities of students.‌ This study aimed to determine the status of clinical education and the factors affecting it from the perspective of surgical technologists and anesthesiology students of Guilan University of Medical Sciences in 2023-2024.
Materials and Methods: ‌The current research was a cross-sectional study that was conducted in 2023-2024 at Guilan University of Medical Sciences. ‌The opinions of undergraduate students of surgical technologists and anesthesiology department were investigated. ‌Data collection tools included a demographic questionnaire, a questionnaire to assess the status of clinical education, and questionnaire to evaluate the factors affecting effective clinical education spectrum  of score extreme 128 and minimum 0.
Results: A total of 132 anesthesiology and surgical technologists students participated in this study.‌ According to the findings, in the clinical education status survey questionnaire, the most favorable clinical education status from the point of view of operating room students and anesthesiology was related to area of the instructor performance. ‌The average of anesthesiology group was 109.60 in clinical education and 121.71 in Surgical technologists, which statistically significant difference was observed between these two groups (P<0.01).‌The average of anesthesiology group was 110.01 and Surgical technologists 120.76 in determining the effective factors on clinical education, which statistically significant difference was observed between these two groups (P<0.01).
Conclusions: The status of clinical education from the perspective of Surgical technologists students was at a good level and at an average level for anesthesiology Students. ‌The field of clinical environment conditions in Surgical technologists students and the two fields of individual characteristics of clinical instructor and clinical environment conditions in anesthesiology group had a greater effect on clinical education.‌
