Horizon of Medical Education Development (HMED) is a peer-reviewed, open-access quarterly journal published by Mashhad University of Medical Sciences, Iran. Established in 2015, it became a quarterly publication in spring 2021 and was awarded scientific-research status by the Iranian Commission for Medical Sciences Journals in September 2023 (Approval No. 700/6370/D, dated 20 September 2023).
HMED publishes original research articles, review articles (including systematic reviews and meta-analyses), short communications, and papers on educational methods and techniques in medical and health professions education. The journal welcomes contributions on educational approaches, curriculum development, teaching and learning, assessment and evaluation, faculty development, e-learning, simulation, artificial intelligence in education, and related topics from researchers worldwide.
All content is published under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial (CC BY-NC) license. The journal operates a rigorous double-blind peer-review process and charges no fees for submission, review, or publication.
HMED is currently indexed and abstracted in: ISC, ESJI, Google Scholar, Magiran, SID, EuroPub, DRJI, CiteFactor, Scientific Indexing Services (SIS), Index Copernicus, Civilica, J-Gate, ROAD, SafetyLit, and Research Source Finder.
